A quick update to let you know that the tenders have gone out for contractors for the Phase 2 work at Powrie which is due to begin in the new year - exciting stuff.
Weather permitting we should sliding down the zip wire and doing chin ups on the trim trail before the end of March, or more realistically April - yay!

Apologies everyone, the committee have postponed the ceilidh until 2014...it's a busy old time!
We're well on our way to covering the costs of phase 2 improvements to Powrie Park - but we still need to raise funds for maintenance and upkeep. So what better way to do it than by having fun!

The parks project team is delighted to confirm that thanks to a wonderful response by the community to our recent fundraising plea, we have raised sufficient funds to draw down a grant for £60k from SITA Trust.
This means that work on phase 2 of developing Powrie Park will begin in November 2013 and, all being well, should be complete by Summer 2014.

Thanks to everyone who joined the balloon race at Picnic in The Park in August.
100+ balloons were released raising some much-needed funds for the Powrie Park Project.
Perhaps more remarkably, over the past 3 weeks a few faded, damp tickets have made it back to Abernethy - courtesy of some friendly folks in the north east.

Abernethy locals celebrated the completion of the first phase of park improvements at a community ‘picnic in the park’ event on Saturday 24 August 2013.
More than 160 members of the community brought out their blankets and shoved on their training shoes to enjoy an action packed afternoon of fun at Powrie Park.
